Dennis Harfst

Dennis Lee Harfst, age 82, of Columbus, MS, passed away March 18, 2025, at Diversicare of Winfield, AL. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Sanderson officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus with military honors. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Saturday at Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory.

Mr. Harfst was born November 25, 1942, in Toledo, OH, to the late Harrison G. and Margine Hamilton Harfst. He served in the U. S. Navy Reserves and was also a veteran of Vietnam serving in the United States Air Force. Mr. Harfst worked as a truck driver for many years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #69 of Columbus and was a Shriner and a Mason. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eugenia Harfst, brothers, Thomas Harfst, and Lawrence Harfst, and granddaughter, Karleigh Harfst.

Survivors include his son, Jim Harfst and his wife Cynthia of Pheba, MS, daughter, Laurie Harfst and her husband David Snow of Columbus, MS, and grandchildren, Amanda Harfst and Ryan Harfst.

Pallbearers will be the Patriot Guard Riders.

Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post #69 of Columbus, 308 Legion Dr., Columbus, MS, 39705.
