Dennis Leslie Harvey passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family on Saturday January 17th 2026.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 44 years, Jean O’Leary Harvey, his partner in life and greatest supporter; his daughter, Stacy Hunt (Harvey), and her husband, Chris; and his cherished grandson, Grant, who brought him immense pride and joy. He is also survived by his son, Dennis, and his daughter, Kerri, as well as his brother, Richard.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Veronica (“Ronnie”); his parents, Harold and Florence Harvey; and his siblings, Bonita, Harold, Allen, and Ronald.
Dennis was a man who showed his love through his actions. He worked hard his entire life, building and running his own business for 40 years, and believed deeply in honesty, responsibility, and helping others whenever he could. If someone needed a hand, he was there; no questions asked.
He loved the simple joys of life: a round of golf, a good hunt, a card game with friends, and long conversations with people who felt more like family than friends. He was incredibly proud of his service as a United States Marine, a part of his identity that stayed with him always.
Animals were another great love of his life. He shared an extraordinary 35-year bond with his horse, Flash, and over the years was rarely without a dog by his side, especially Tuffy, Morgan, Jake, and Suma, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Above all, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be remembered for his steady presence, quiet strength, loyalty, and the deep love he had for his family.
Services will be held at Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Society, 1008 Bichara Blvd., The Villages, Florida, on February 21st from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be sent to Empath Hospice of Marion County.
He will be deeply missed, always loved, and never forgotten. Semper Fidelis.
