Mr. Dennis Stephen Hatfield

Mr. Dennis Stephen "Steve" Hatfield, 76, of Martinez, Georgia, unexpectedly entered into rest on Thursday, February 26, 2026.

The family will greet friends on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, South Carolina 29829. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 3:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dexter Lambert officiating.

Steve was born in Fountain City, Tennessee, to the late William Herchel Hatfield and Charline Marie Grubb Hatfield. He dedicated more than thirty years of service as a Certified Histology Technician with Mullins Laboratory before retiring. Through his work and daily life, Steve was known as a dependable, hardworking man who took pride in what he did.

A deeply spiritual man with a gentle and generous heart, Steve never met a stranger. He had a natural way of connecting with people and formed friendships wherever life took him. In his younger years, he earned his pilot's license and found great joy taking to the open skies. Later in life, he embraced that same spirit of adventure on the open road, riding his beloved Harley and savoring the freedom it brought. In more recent years, Anytime Fitness became a second home to him, where he faithfully worked out and treasured the fellowship and friendships he found there.

Above all, Steve loved his family. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Barbara Ann Redmond Hatfield of Hephzibah, Georgia; his children, Jason Beau Hatfield of Martinez, Georgia, and Jennifer Hatfield Woodward (Clay) of North Augusta, South Carolina; his cherished grandchildren, Clayton Woodward, Logan Woodward, Caitlyn Woodward, and Evan Woodward, and his ever-faithful companion, his beloved dog, Charlie, who was always by his side.

Steve will be remembered for his warm spirit, his kind heart, and the genuine care he showed to everyone he met. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the blessing of knowing and loving him.
