Dennis R. Hoeppel, 82 of Little Egg Harbor, NJ passed away at home on Sunday March 15th, 2026. Dennis was born in Hudson County, NJ and spent time living in Little Ferry, NJ, Maywood, NJ and Wyckoff, NJ before settling in Little Egg Harbor, NJ in 2005. Dennis proudly served our nation in the United States Army and later worked as an internal auditor for IBM. He was a member of the American Legion Post 493, the VFW and St. Theresa’s R.C. Church in Little Egg Harbor, NJ. He was a past member of the Republican Club and coached softball in Wyckoff, NJ. He was an avid Yankees fan and collected Yankees memorabilia. He enjoyed going to Black Dog and the American Legion Post 493 to root for his NY Yankees and NY Giants and gather with his good friends. Dennis and his late wife Dianne were champions of animals and ran the fundraising gala for RBARI animal shelter in Oakland, NJ for over 10 years.
Dennis was predeceased by his parents Frank and Susanna Hoeppel, his beloved wife Dianne, his brother Frank Hoeppel and his sister Doris Iafelice.
Dennis is survived by his loving brother Doug Hoeppel and wife Thomassina of Summerfield, FL, nephew Chad Hoeppel and wife Kathy, nieces Linda Palange and husband Edward, Karen Thomas and husband Edward, Brianne Brakeley and husband James and Lauren Hoeppel, many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews and his good friend Lynne Boyle and husband Rich.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 24th, 2026 from 4-8pm and on Wednesday March 25th, 2026 from 9:30-10:30am at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Rd. Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday March 25th, 2026 at 11am at St. Theresa’s R.C. Church 450 Radio Rd. Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. Cremation will be private and an interment of ashes with his wife will take place at a later date in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, 2 Shelter Lane, Oakland, NJ Or St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN.
