Dennis Fay Hunter Jr

Dennis "Biddy" Fay Hunter - a cherished husband, father, brother, and local legend in the St. Augustine surfing community - rode his final wave on October 22, 2025, passing peacefully in his sleep at his Treasure Beach home.
Born on August 1, 1948, Biddy spent his life drawn to the sea. He was known for his generous heart, his humor, and his deep connection to the ocean. In his younger years, he surfed professionally and helped sponsor local contests, including those supporting the Kidney Foundation, helping give back to the community that shaped him.
He married his high school sweetheart, Judith Law, and together they built a beautiful life - 54 years of laughter, love, and shared surfing and fishing adventures - until her passing in 2023.
Whether casting a line from his boat, tending to his yard, or sharing stories with friends, Biddy lived with gratitude and grace. He leaves behind a family who adored him and countless friends who will forever remember his easy smile and salt-air spirit.
Biddy is survived by his children, Aaron Wade Hunter, Erik Hunter, Alicia Harper, and Melissa Hunter; his siblings, Sally Hunter Cavanaugh and Steve Hunter; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
His legacy lives on in the waves he rode, the laughter he shared, and the love that still ripples through everyone who knew him.
