Dennis Lee "D.L." Jadwin the son of Cleo and Hattie (Drewell) Jadwin was born April 22, 1937, in Ally Springs, Missouri. The oldest of six children, D.L.'s early childhood was spent in Oregon, his parents moved out west in the late thirties and moved back to Missouri in 1945.
D.L. attended school in a one room schoolhouse in Jadwin. He worked with his dad on the farm, milking, plowing, haying, and picking rocks. He started working at a young age in the sawmill for the Lough Brothers and from there he worked at the International Shoe Factory. D.L. loved driving big rigs and made a living driving eighteen wheelers. He worked for Craig Distributing Co. and Dodds Trucking until he retired.
On July 8, 1956, he married June Marie Schafer and to this union they were blessed with five children: Mike, Connie, Phyllis, Wade, and Kelli. D.L. and June shared sixty-eight years creating lasting memories together. They built a life filled with love and dedication. He always put family first and treasured his grandchildren, cherished great-grandchildren, and adored his great-great-grandchildren.
D.L. was a member of the Jadwin Church of Christ. He most recently attended the Westside Church of Christ, in Salem, until his health no longer allowed. D.L. always put others above himself and truly enjoyed lending a helping hand. He was known for his kind, generous, and humble nature.
