Dennis Andrew Jostes, beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on August 12, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, Dennis grew up in Englewood and Rosemoor. He was a graduate of Mendel Catholic High School. Dennis lived a full and meaningful life defined by love, service, and devotion to his family.

Dennis was preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda (née Biggs); his father, Andrew; his mother, Margaret (née O'Brien); and his brother, Donald. He is survived by his four children, Eric (Laura), Erin, Laura (Daniel), and Brian (Yadira); six cherished grandchildren: Lily, Aiden, Heidi, Sadie, Sam, Lincoln; his loving sister, Carol (Roger), and many nieces and nephews who will continue to honor his memory.

Dennis served his country with honor and courage in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne from 1966 to 1969. His strength, dedication, and quiet resilience were hallmarks of his character-traits that carried through every chapter of his life. After his tour in the Army, he worked at Pullman Standard where he met his loving wife, Linda.

Known for his gentle humor, steadfast loyalty, and generous heart, Dennis touched the lives of all who knew him. He loved his family deeply, found joy in the simple moments, and left a legacy of kindness and strength that will live on in the hearts of those he loved. He will be loved and greatly missed!! A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home & Crematory, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, IN. Rev. Tom Clark officiating.
