Dennis D. Kavalecz

1953 - 2021

Dennis D. Kavalecz, 67, passed away peacefully at home after battling a long illness on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ethel Kavalecz; brother, Ernie and infant brother; daughter, Lisa Hartshorn; Dennis is survived by sister, Mary Ann Myers. Dennis was an avid baseball fan with his favorite team being the New York Yankees, although the Indians were a close second. He had a great ability for statistical analysis and was extremely accurate when predicting the future performances of players and teams. A lifetime Barberton resident. He loved all things Barberton including Belgrades, Hopocan Gardens, Cissy's Diner, Hiss Bakery and Al's Market. He was a proud member of the Liedertafel and Hungarian Club. He rarely ventured outside of Barberton. He enjoyed watching sports and old westerns. His favorite show was Gunsmoke. Dennis kept life simple and wanted very few things. He cared deeply for his sister, Mary Ann and had faith that he would see his mother and father in Heaven on the day he was called from this life. Dennis was very grateful for all those who helped him in the past years. Special thanks to his good friend, Tom Milner who looked after Dennis for many years and was his go to guy in all respects. Mass of the Christian Burial will be Thursday, July 22nd at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 204 6th St. N.W., Barberton 44203 where the family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.
