Dennis “Denny” Knapp, age 73, of Akron, Ohio, passed away on January 5, 2026. He was born on May 31, 1952, in Akron, Ohio.
Denny was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He shared 35 loving years of marriage with his wife, Karen, and treasured the time he spent with his family above all else. He was a steady presence, a loyal friend, and someone many people could always count on.
He was the proud father of Michael Knapp (Julia) and David Knapp (Janel), and a loving grandfather to Wyatt, Elliot, and Beckett, who brought him immense joy and pride.
Denny thoroughly enjoyed playing baseball and golf with friends. He was an avid sports fan, especially cheering on the Cleveland Indians and Ohio State. Summers held a special place in his heart, as he loved camping and spending time with family and friends at Mohican State Park, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves for two years. Denny dedicated 40 years of service as a Produce Manager at Acme, where he built lasting friendships and was well respected by coworkers and customers alike.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Lillian Knapp, and his brothers, William and James Knapp.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen; his children and grandchildren; his brothers Thomas Knapp, Ed Knapp (Sue), and Larry Knapp (Molly); his sisters Mary K Boring(Keith), Patty Cooper(James), and Ann Moorehart (Dutch); his sister-in-laws Sue Knapp, and Kathy Delaney(Bill); and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Denny will be deeply missed by many and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life, open to the public, on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite sports attire. The celebration will be held at the Firestone VFW, located at 690 West Waterloo Road, Akron, Ohio 44314.
