Denny Lindquist, 82, of New London, died Friday, December 26 at Paynesville Care Center in Paynesville. His funeral service will be held 10:30, Tuesday, December 30 at Evangelical Covenant Church in New London. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm, Monday at Johnson Funeral Home in New London and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial with military honors will be at Spicer City Cemetery. In honor of Denny, please wear cowboy boots, flannels, and jeans. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson & Johnson Funeral Home in New London.

Dennis "Denny" Lindquist was born on April 30, 1943, to Rudolph "Rudy" and Alvina (Anderson) Lindquist in New London, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at Evangelical Covenant Church in New London. Denny attended District 9 Elementary School and graduated from New London–Spicer High School in 1961. He continued his education at Willmar Technical College, graduating in 1963 with high honors. After graduation, Denny enlisted in the National Guard in 1964 where he served in the motor pool division and continued service until his honorable discharge in 1970.

On July 23, 1966, Denny was united in marriage to Marlys Gravley at Raymond United Methodist Church. The couple made their home in Spicer and Litchfield before settling in New London. Denny worked as a mechanic before opening his own business, Denny's Wheel and Brake Service located in New London and continued to farm the family homestead. He operated the business until 1992, when he retired and discovered a new passion. After retirement, Denny drove school bus and motor coach for Peterson Bus Company and R & J Tours and also drove for Night Life Limousine.

Denny was actively involved in his community, serving on the Youth for Christ Board, the Lake Beauty Bible Camp Board, and numerous other boards and committees. He enjoyed camping, hunting, flying his airplane, and enthusiastically embracing many interests.

Denny is survived by his wife, Marlys; his children, Bethany Lindquist (Charles Buggs) and Chris (Kayleen) Lindquist; his grandchildren, Trevor, Trenton, Briana Checketts, Makenzie Erickson, Rayah, and Gavin Lindquist; and his sisters, Carolyn (Larry) Poe and Rosemary (Gary) Wallace.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Alvina Lindquist.
