Mr. Dennis Martin, age 76, passed away on February 24, 2025. He was born in Elberton Georgia on July 28, 1948, to the late Corine Martin. He worked as a carpenter. He Started his employment with Mathis Construction at an early age. He also worked at Tenneco and Springs Industries for many years. He also had the pleasure of working for the Thrashers as a handyman until his departure. He joined Rose Hill Baptist Church at an early age and then moved his membership to Ruckers Grove Baptist Church where he took on the role of an Usher until his death. He enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, gardening, spending time with family, serving as an usher at his church, and was a jack of all trades. He loved baseball especially the Atlanta Braves.
He was preceded in death by his Wife, Sarah Martin, his Mother, Corine Martin, and his Sister, Bessie Jean Wall.
Left to cherish his memory are: his children, Sharon Johnson (Larry) of Hartwell, Jennifer Martin of Hartwell, three grandchildren: Camron Donald (Leah), Janasja Donald, and Myreisha Grant. Siblings: Dallas Martin, Alfred Martin ( Catherine), Louvenia Thornton (Talmadge), and Linda Saddler. In-laws: Virginia Padgett, Calvin Hill, Ellen Parks (Stagger Lee), Linda Knox, Gloria Hill, Thomas Wall and Ralph Wall.
His body will lie in state on Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at Coile and Hall Funeral Directors. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Ruckers Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow after service at Ruckers Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
