On February 11, Dennis Lee Martin, 79 years old of Fredricktown, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose greatest joy in life was the time spent with those he loved.
He was born August 14, 1946 in Pittsburgh, Son of the late Adolph Martin and Lillian Martin.
He shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Susan Martin, who preceded him in death. Married for 50 wonderful years, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories together. Their bond was the foundation of their family and an example to all who knew them.
Dennis served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War on the USS Howard W. Gilmore.
He worked for West Penn Power, where he dedicated many years through hard work and commitment. Outside of work, he had a deep love for the outdoors and could often be found hunting, fishing, or spending time with the many dogs he and Susan adored throughout the years. He also enjoyed bowling every Thursday at the Muse Italian Club, where he formed many lasting friendships and looked forward to the camaraderie.
Surviving are daughter Kelly (Dale) Thomson of Muse, son Dean Martin of Bridgeville, four granddaughters, Erica (Ed) Blackburn of Fredricktown,, Melanie (Nicholas) Sohyda of Bridgeville, Kaci Martin of Alliquipa and Amanda Martin, serving in the US Navy in Greece, four great-grandchild Emmett and Ember Blackburn, Elliana Sohyda and Enzo Martin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Susan.
Friends will be received 5:00 PM- 7:30 PM, Friday, February 13, 2026 at Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Rd., Cecil, PA 15321, where a funeral services will be held at 7:30PM.
Inurnment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 10:00 AM with full military honors accorded by the Canonsburg VFW 191 and the US Navy.
