Harold Cass Obituary

Harold F. "Skeeter" Cass, Jr., 94, of McDonald, died Friday, February 13, 2026, in his home. He was born February 9, 1932, in Renton, a son of the late Harold and Mary Borish Cass. After moving to Hill Station and graduating from Cecil High School in 1951, he joined the Navy, serving four years on the USS O'Hare in the Mediterranean Sea, France, Italy, Turkey and Portugal. On October 22, 1955, he married his high school sweetheart, Janet Forno, in St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Hill Station. Harold worked construction, J and L Steel, the Observer-Reporter, and Pat's Hallmark Shop. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joseph and William; and his beloved son, David. He is survived by his wife, Janet; sister, Patty (George) Plance; brother, Chester (Linda) Cass; daughter, Terri Brown, and his grandchildren, Matthew Workman, Jordan Brown and Taylor Brown. Harold attended church at St. Mary Catholic Church in Cecil. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and loved to putz around in the workshop with Budsy and Tootser. A Funeral Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, February 19 at 12 noon in Corpus Christi Parish, St. Mary Church, 10 St. Mary Lane, Cecil, followed by internment at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, with full military honors. Please meet at the church at 11:30 a.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road, Cecil, PA 15321.
