Dennis “Jerry” McAtee, 86, of Havelock, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at the Crystal Coast Hospice House of Newport.
Jerry served and retired after nineteen and half years in the USMC. He retired with multiple medals including a Purple Heart
Service times to be announced.
He is survived by his wife of over 64 years, Marlene McAtee of Havelock; three daughters, Brenda Huffman and husband, Richard of Havelock; Adria Waddell of Havelock; Deborah Shanks and husband, Brian of Newport; son, Dennis McAtee II of Newport; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and his six siblings.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Samuel Waddell; a daughter-in-law, Kellie McAtee; and three grandsons, Greg, Tracy, and Dennis Ellison
