Dennis was raised in Chicago and it was there he met the love of his life, Karen Sue Powers. They would have shared their 61st anniversary on October 1st. He loved being in love and getting married, so much that he and Karen "Sue" renewed their vows three times.
Dennis was very passionate about his work and shared that passion with his sons. Working over 40 years in the Automotive Industry, he was the owner of Creative Studio and Auto Specialists, providing vehicles, props and stunt vehicles for over 400 films, TV shows and commercials before moving to Bonita Springs to open D & S Gallery with his wife, Karen Sue, providing art and custom framing for 20 years. Dennis was a man a many talents, doing remodeling projects for family and friends until the end. He was known for his humor and love of telling tales of his adventures to all and was loved by many. He will be missed but never forgotten.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Karen Sue McCarthy; sons, James Patrick (Susen) McCarthy and Michael Dennis (Vickie) McCarthy; grandchildren, Jenny (John) Melander, Ashley (Dan) Steiskal, Megan (Tony Martinez) McCarthy, Michael Dennis Jr. (Jennifer) McCarthy and Alec (Dorian) McCarthy; and 8 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 10 AM in St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, Bonita Springs.
