Dennis M. Moore

Funeral services for Dennis Franklin Moore of Leesburg and a former long-time resident of Cordele, passed away Monday, October 27, 2025 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital at the age of 80. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2025 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. He will be laid to rest in Arabi Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service Saturday, beginning at 1:00 p.m.Born in Cordele he was the son of the late Loran F. Moore and Sue Oglesby Moore. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Diane M. Hobbs and a niece, SuAnna Smith. Dennis was an insurance adjuster for Cincinnati Insurance Company and a member of Cordele First Baptist Church. He was a man of few words, but you could bank on the fact that he said what he meant and meant what he said. He loved spending the day on the golf course and the next best day was on the water with a fishing pole. He was a Georgia Bull Dawg man and could be found watching them every chance he got. Above all else he loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Dennis is survived by his wife of 27 years, Ruby Smith Moore of Leesburg; his children, LeAnn Moore of Cordele, Mitchell Moore (Stacie) of Fairhope, AL, Lauren Law (Benji) of Atlanta, Lisa Harrison of Cordele, Lynn Watkins (Stacy) of Tifton, Lori Dickerson of Cordele and Louis Nipper (Emily) of Elko; a brother-in-law, Duain Hobbs of Cordele; 13 grandchildren, Madolyn Moore, Brady Law, Bo Law, Tommy Peacock, Brandon Peacock, D.J. Houston, Anna Ingram, Zack Ingram, Elizabeth Connell, Emma Watkins, Conner Dickerson, Abigail Pickering and Jackson Nipper; and seven great-grandchildren; a niece, Macy Young (Kyle); a great-nephew and two great nieces.
