Dennis Charles Morrison

Dennis Charles Morrison, 84, of Loveland, Colorado, passed away on February 2, 2026. He was
born on August 16, 1941, in Queens Village, New York.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Roberta Morrison.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Morrison (Moore) married in 2001; daughter Denise
Morrison-Olson and fiancé Mark Hodgson; son Tim Morrison and wife Heather Morrison
(Molinaro); son Patrick Morrison; stepdaughter Shannon Feit; grandchildren Charlie, Sam, and
Max Olson, and Allison and Katie Morrison; and brother Wayne Morrison and wife Lynn
Morrison.
Dennis led a life full of adventure, learning many skills along the way. In his early years, the
Morrison family was deeply involved with the Boy Scouts of America (Troop 6, Queens), and
Dennis earned the rank of Eagle Scout. The Morrisons also formed a group that became part of
the Indian League of the Americas, creating their own costumes and performing authentic
dances at the New York Coliseum and Jones Beach. Dennis won several awards in competition
as part of this group.
After graduating from Martin Van Buren High School, Dennis served as a private in the United
States Army Reserves at Fort Dix in Burlington County, New Jersey. He later worked as a
carpenter with various construction companies in Queens, New York, before joining the Long
Island Lighting Company. In 1963, he married Margaret Breuer and moved to Bay Shore, New
York, where his two older children were born.
In 1972, Dennis changed his life-and that of his family-by moving to Livermore, Colorado.
The Morrisons quickly became part of the Livermore community. Dennis learned to handle
horses and cattle and eventually owned livestock of his own. His children were given an
extraordinary life in the country that could only have happened in Colorado, and many lifelong
friendships were formed during his years in Livermore. Dennis moved to Loveland in 1995, and
he married Sharon in 2001.
Dennis served in many roles with the Larimer County Road and Bridge Department from 1973
to 2012, beginning as a road maintenance engineer and concluding his career as Assistant
Director.
Dennis faced significant health challenges later in life, but his spirit never wavered. He was a
devoted servant of Jesus Christ and continually encouraged family and friends to know and
understand God's love. We are grateful to know that he is now free from the limitations of his
body and on to his next adventure.
A celebration of life will be held on August 13, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Foundations Church in
Loveland, Colorado. Family and friends will gather to honor Dennis's life.
