Dennis James O'Neal, 51, of Bethany, Missouri, passed away on October 2, 2025, at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri doing what he loved most, watching his son race.

Dennis was born on July 3, 1974, in Glendale, Montana, to Mike O'Neal and Linda Roberts (Fellman). From an early age, Dennis developed a love for racing, a passion that became not only his lifelong pursuit but also a legacy he proudly shared with his son, family, and countless friends. He was also a gifted diesel mechanic, known for his ability to fix just about anything and for generously sharing his knowledge with others. Over the years, he earned many accomplishments on the track, but his greatest joy came from watching his kids grow up and sharing his love of racing with his son.

Dennis was preceded in death by his infant brother David, uncle Jim, and uncle Pat

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Tyler and Katie O'Neal; his daughter Taylor O'Neal; his partner Lara McCarthy and her daughter Kenzie; his dog and best friend, Milk, his father, Mike O'Neal; sisters Lisa (O'Neal) Leonard, Julie Nichols, and Johnnie Shaffer; cousin Brian "Cabby" O'Neal; as well as many cousins, extended family members, and friends who will deeply miss him.

Dennis will be remembered not only for his fearless spirit, but also for the love, laughter, and loyalty he gave to his family and friends. His memory will forever race on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 7 at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial will follow in Miriam Cemetery, Bethany, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Dennis O'Neal Memorial Fund in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O.
