I have too many memories from Dennis and Brandon to mention them all. I worked with Dennis for five years and had the pleasure of working with Brandon on Kaizen events. Dennis would be miss tremendously at Harsco Rail. He had knowledge that you can only get with time and a sense of humor that nobody could match. I still remember him showing up for a baby shower dress as a doctor ready to deliver!!!
My thoughts and prayers are with the Orr family during this difficult time.

God Bless.

Dennis was my "Go To" guy on all occasions when I needed a part to get a machine up and running in the field. I had the pleasure of working with and for Dennis for over 32 years. His sense of humor to put the right perspective on any situation was uncanny. He was a true friend indeed.

Dennis and I went to Airport High together and also worked at Tamper together.Super Guy.

We are so saddened about the loss of Dennis, my mother worked with Dennis at Harsco Fairmont Tamper and I met Dennis several times over the years. He was such a wonderful person to be around. Heaven has another Angel. (Kathy) Lois Hutto Squires Family.

November 6, 2010

Brandon and Gabbie, I have been retired from Tamper, Fairmont Tamper, HTT, Harsco Rail for many years, but I will always remember my work aquaintences, especially Dennis. I think he and I coined the phrase "Skunk Works" because were it not for some of the behind the scenes capers that we pulled in order to get parts out the door correctly and machines in the field up and running I don't think the company would be what it is today. No brag, just fact! I have missed our day to day contact all these years and will now miss him more than ever. Rest east my brother, your job is done, the line has held!

I'm very sorry for the Orr family's lost. I have known Dennis for many year back from the old softball days to all the time we spent a Midland Dixie Youth Baseball. So many weekends working on those field to make sure they look great! He was one person I could always trust, and love to sit and talk baseball with! I will miss you my friend, and I know you will be watching us from above!

To the family:

Dennis was one of my brothers best friends in high school. I have not seen him in many years but I will always remember what a wonderful person he was. My mother had kept up with him through his contribution to baseball and always talked of how wonderful he was. He was loved and admired by many and will surely be missed. I am so sorry for your loss but be comforted by the fact that he is surrounded by the love of many that went before him.

November 6, 2010

Dennis's older siblings Rusty and Paulette were at AHS during the early 60's. They had that same fun-loving magnetic personality that evidently runs in the Orr family.

Then I met Dennis at Tamper where we worked together for 25 years. He was a hard worker but he also had a way of bringing a little happiness to any situation. Everybody who knew him was proud to call him friend. He loved people and was loved in return.

God be with us all.

Brandon,
I met your dad in elementary school. He even held his own back then, as he could drum 'Wipe-Out' perfectly on his school desk better than any of the other guys. And yes, many of us had 'secret crushes' on him! He was an adoring man, as well!
We will remember you and your family in prayer during this time in your life. May our Father hold you close and comfort you now.

Gabbie and Brandon....
Neither of you would know us if we passed on the street....yet we've known the Hayes and Orr families for many years!! Real, rock solid, salt of the earth folks that you were better off for knowing!! I worked with Dennis for many years at HTT before leaving in 1997. His work ethic and contributions to his customers and the company was unwavering!! Shocking news to everyone to learn he is no longer with us!! I will always remember Dennis as a hard worker with the ability to smile and have fun doing it, as well as being a man's man!! We pray for the "Good Lord to send each of you peace and comfort" at this difficult time!!

Barbara, Brandon and all it is indeed a sad time for the Orr's. Dennis was a well loved cousin of mine and though we did not see each other much in our adult hood we always shared the bond of family and growing up so close together in Cayce. My Dad and Ed were close and it has to be a blessing for the 3 of them to now share Heaven together.
This earth is a lesser place without them but Heaven has been enriched.

Brandon - Dennis has been a true friend and in many cases a mentor to all three of us for many years. We have shared good times and hardships, laughter and tears, humorous times and serious times, quiet conversations and yelling. Throughout it all, we knew we had a steadfast bond that only years of respect and admiration for each other could bring. It is such a remarkable feeling to know you have a friend like Dennis to turn to with unconditional loyalty and support. The three of us will not forget the wealth of knowledge and friendship he shared with us. He will be greatly missed, but will live on in our hearts.

I worked with Dennis at Harsco Rail for many years. I was deeply saddened to hear of Dennis’s passing. Life.....so fragile, Loss....so sudden, Heart....so broken...in the wake of such a loss, we are haunted by things we don't, and may never understand. I’ll always remember the way Dennis made many of his co-workers all laugh with his jokes and upbeat personality.
Brandon & to the rest of the Orr's family,
You are in my thoughts and prayers,

Brandon, I am saddened to hear about your father's passing. Another good man who left this world much too soon. Dennis and I played little league ball in Cayce back in the 60's. He pitched and played shortstop. He was so good that he was playing at age 8 while the rest of us were 10-12. What a dynamo he was on the mound, except when someone got a hit on him. I would spend the rest of the game calming him down which usually ended up in us winning the game. Our team, Millen Movers, finished last the year before we played, 4th my first year and 2nd the next two years. Dennis and the team won the championship the year after I graduated. We spent a lot of time together and I will miss him alot. But I have so many wonderful memories of the times we shared. God Bless the Orr family. You are in my prayers.

I have known Dennis for many years we went to Airpot High School together and we ran into each other over the years and he has never changed he was a loving and caring man. We would run into him at Murrays' and talk for just a few minutes to get caught on up on things and he always had a nice smile and always greeted you with a smile. Here lately we started seeing him at the grocery store and he told me he was living in his moms house. It will not be the same without him,he had a blessed life and he is be truly missed. Please remember all the good times with him cause I know we will. He was a very special person and a gift from God.

From part of the Midland Baseball Family, we would like to extend our deepest sympathy.

Dennis truly loved Midland Baseball. This was evident back in 2005 when Dennis attached the Midland championship flags to his truck and drove around the fields as the minor league team practiced before heading to Auburn to play in the World Series. He had the entire team, coaches and parents pumped up for the big event. He was truly one of our biggest fans. He will be missed greatly.

November 5, 2010

Dennis always had time to stop by while I was in the yard just to say hello. He passed my house almost every Sunday on his way to buy his dog a sausage biscuit. He always had time to shake my hand and give my wife and daughter a hug if we saw him at Murray's. I will truly miss that sly smile.

The last time I talked to Dennis was Tuesday at work. I was in the office break room and didn't realize he was outside. Thinking I was alone, I began talking to myself. However Dennis could hear me, and after I’m sure getting a good laugh to himself, he LOUDLY knocked on the window and made me practically drop my lunch. He then proceeded to make fun of me in classic Dennis style. I will sincerely miss him around work, and I will always remember him with laughter. Brandon – He talked about you with such pride and fondness. He loved you greatly. (And your dog too!)
Keep ‘em straight up there Dennis.

Brandon my thoughts & Prayers are with you & your family during this difficult time. I have worked with Dorr (as I called him) for 3.5 years & he was the sweetest stubborn person I know. At first glance you would think he was mean but once you got to know him..He would go out of his way to help anyone. I will miss walking down to visit him & Brian in the parts department. He was a wonderful person & you should be very proud of the man he was. He has touched so many people & I'm just so glad to be able to say I was one of those people. May he continue to smile on us from heaven as he smiled with us in life. Sincerly

May God comfort you at this time as only he can. Dennis was one of the most giving and caring men I have ever had the fortune to meet. He coached Brandon when he was little, always called him "Brandon Yonce" so you two would know who he was talking to when he was yelling across the field or just talking to you guys to teach you something. His quick smile and whit was one of his best assets. He will be missed by a lot of people but none as much as his family. God shared a great man with you, gave you a great Dad Brandon and for that you have to be thankful. Hold on to the memories in your heart and he will be with you always. Brandon asked that I send his sympathies as well and a big thank you to Coach Dennis for all he did on and off the baseball field. Ms. Patty and Brandon Yonce
