Dennis Alan Packham

Dennis Alan Packham took his final breath on the morning of October 6, 2025 while surrounded by loved ones at his home in Yukon, OK. Dennis – who was often called Denny, Packrat and Rat - was born on January 1, 1948, to Frederick Smith Packham and Crystal Gazella Walkup. The youngest of eight children, Dennis went to Capitol Hill High School before joining the U.S. Army in January, 1966.
Dennis was honorably discharged in January, 1969 and began what turned out to be a decades long career at Dayton Tire as a tire builder and set up man. During his time at Dayton Tire, Dennis was active in the union and occasionally traveled to other locations throughout the country to help support workers at other plants and union shops. Upon retiring in 2001, Dennis pursued another passion by taking jobs at Westbury Country Club and The Links at Mustang Creek, which kept him busy but also allowed him to spend more time on the golf course.
Among his other joys in life were watching and playing sports, watching westerns and old shows on Me.TV, and spending time with his wife, Sue Miller Packham, his son, Jeff Alan Packham, and his grandson, Paytyn Alan Packham. Dennis attended Life.Church in Yukon and had been an active volunteer along with Sue for several years.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Shelly Christine Packham; his brothers, Bob, Mickey, Jimmy, and Paul; and his sisters, Barbara and Linda. Dennis is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sue; his son, Jeff; his grandson, Paytyn; his brother, Ronny; and a large number of friends and family members.
Those who knew Dennis will remember him as someone who enjoyed a good laugh, who enjoyed helping others, and as someone who was a faithful servant to God.
Viewing will be held from 12 pm to 7 pm, Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service. Sue, Jeff and Paytyn will also be present at the viewing from 5 pm to 7 pm.
Funeral services will be held at Life.Church Yukon on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 1 pm, with graveside services taking place at Olivet Cemetery in Perkins, OK at approximately 4 pm.
