Dennis K. Pank, age 75, of the Town of Lima, Pepin County, WI passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls.
He was born on March 27, 1948 to Miles Pank, Sr. and Lorraine (Thoeny) Pank in Winona, MN.
Dennis attended Alma Area Schools and graduated from Alma High School with the class of 1966.
Dennis Honorably served as a Member of the National Guard during the Vietnam War. Although never deployed overseas, Dennis served and protected our country and homeland for 6 years.
It was on October 2, 1971, that Dennis was united in marriage to Lynette Quarberg at Lyster Lutheran Church.
Dennis was a licensed Cheesemaker and worked at a local Alma Dairy until its closing. Then, in 1977, Dennis and his family relocated to Bloomer when he accepted a position as a cheesemaker at Mid America Dairy in Bloomer. Following his employment at Mid America Dairy, Dennis began a career as the regional field representative for Farm First based out of Madison, WI until his retirement in 2014.
Dennis was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer.
Dennis was a true definition of an outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially hunting with his fellow hunting friends in his favorite place, Colorado. Dennis relished the moments of sharing his love and spending time in the outdoors with his grandchildren and teaching to respect its beauty.
Dennis loved to travel with his wife and family to experience the many wonderful destinations throughout the United States, especially out West. One of Dennis’ dream destinations was Alaska. And as dreams often do, this one came true in the summer of 2022 when he, accompanied by his wife, sister, and Vern Carothers, made that trek to the great state of Alaska.
According to his grandchildren, “grandpa was never angry and was always in a good mood, he never said I love you but we always knew that he did.”
Dennis is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lynette; children, Jeremy (wife, Sara), Denise (husband, Rene) Medina and Andrea (husband Cory Probasco) Ziemer; grandchildren, Hilliard Probasco, Ian, Colton and Bria Pank, Greyson and Mercedes Medina; sisters, Pat Vollmer and Donna Carothers; also by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his brother and sister in law, Miles and Gloria Pank, Jr.; brothers in law, Marvin Vollmer and Duaine Carothers and his treasured nephew, Randy Vollmer.
