Dennis John Peter Myren

Dennis John Peter Myren was born in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, Canada on June 8, 1950, on a snowy blizzard day. Upon completing high school, he hitchhiked around Europe where he visited more than thirty countries. He returned to Canada and completed his degree in petroleum technology at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. Dennis then attended the University of Wyoming where he obtained a degree in petroleum engineering. The oil field took him to Houston, Texas, Houma, Louisiana and, lastly, Angola Africa. With the slump in the oil industry in the 1980s, he set out to Biscarrosse, France where he bought a house on the beach and lived and worked there for a short time. Dennis returned to Houston and opened two very successful bars, "ice houses", as they call them in Texas. After tiring of this, he began work at Southern Architectural Systems as a construction supervisor and retired after seventeen years.
He moved to Jordan, Arkansas with his wife, Kathy, and they resided there for the last ten years. In Jordan, he met the most wonderful friends and community. Dennis was a hardworking man. He was great at everything he did and made sure it was perfect. A true perfectionist! He loved creating projects, playing golf, working on his 1966 Mustang and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; one son, Julius (Megan); one sister, Gail Daniels; one niece, Tara Krock and one nephew, Cory Krock. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Andrew and Helen (Swensen) Myren and one brother-in-law, Charles Daniels.
