Dennis Petoskey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tom M. Wages Funeral Service - Lawrenceville on Dec. 8, 2025.
Dennis George Petoskey, age 87, of Dacula, Georgia, formally of Pontiac, Michigan, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025. He went peacefully in his sleep after many years of health issues. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Geraldine Petoskey; his oldest son, Tony Petoskey (wife, Toni); grandchildren: Andrew, Elizabeth, Brandon, and Daniel; as well as 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Mike, in 2002. Dad was a very structured and purposeful person. He was an Electrical/Mechanical Engineer which made his life decisions and actions calculated in most every situation. Dad had a long career, mostly as an automation controls engineer, working with various tier 2 or tier 3 automation companies on projects for Ford and GM. He also did project designs of electric motors and printer ribbon cartridges, where he was awarded a US Patent on an internal ribbon cartridge design. He retired in 2005. For entertainment and as an escape and recharge, Dad enjoyed drag racing, especially ¼ mile drag boats. He and mom would go to every event they could in a season. After many years of attending numerous events, one of the many drag boat racers told dad that he was the only racer there without a boat. Dad was just into it that much. When they could, the family and grandchildren would join in on the weekend excitement. Dad was a fun guy who enjoyed conversation with family and his close friends. He was a religious person and was raised and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. He raised his family the same. Dad was cremated and there are no services planned at this time. Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.wagesfuneralhome.com. Tom M. Wages Funeral Service, 120 Scenic Hwy, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30046 (770-963-2411) – Lawrenceville Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
