Dennis (Denny) Wayne Smith, 73, of Cold Spring, passed away suddenly, Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at one of his favorite places, his houseboat on Lake Cumberland. He was born October 19, 1950, in Ft. Thomas, the son of the late Pete Smith and Cleo Browning Smith. He was retired from Gusher Pumps and was preceded in death by his wife, Jean M. Smith, in 2017. He was a lover of boats, fast cars and classic rock music and is survived by his children, Sue Shewalter (Will); Roy Smith (Trisha); brothers, Les Smith (Judy); Gary Smith (Kathy) and Greg Smith (Kathy); sister Kathy Jordan; his grandchildren, Breyanna Smith, Brittany Temple (Travis), Austin Smith and Sydney Shewalter, and great-grandchildren Braydon, Hudson, Layla and Landon. He was also preceded in death by a brother in law, Bob Jordan. Funeral services will be held 7PM Monday, July 29, 2024, at the Floral Hills Funeral Home, Chapel A, with Pastor James Love officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 PM. Burial will be 11 AM Tuesday at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
