Dennis Smith Obituary
Dennis Smith, born on March 19, 1967, to the late Edward and LaVerne (nee: Kenney) Smith. A SGT in the United States Air Force. A community member of Florence, KY passed away on January 9, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his brother Jeffrey Smith and daughter Chelsea Schweinefuss. He is survived by his sons, Tyler (Lexie) Smith, Kyle (Courtney) Smith, and Ryan (Aarte) Smith, his grandson and best buddy, Levi Smith, and his siblings, Therese Degenhart, Kathy (Jack) Genever, Doug Smith, Tim( Linda) Smith, Sandy Smith, Laura Smith, Michelle (Richard) Wilbur, and Jacqueline Meadows (Tim Neumann), numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In loving memory of Dennis Smith, whose presence in our lives was a pillar of strength, a devoted son, father, grandfather, brother, cousin, and friend. His loyalty knew no bounds and his dedication to his family was unwavering. He was always there to lend a helping hand, offering, support and kindness with a heart full of love.
Dennis's battle with cancer was one that he faced with incredible courage and resilience. Though the fight was long and difficult, he never lost his spirit or his sense of hope. Even in the most challenging moments, he remained a source of strength for those around him. His peaceful passing was a testament to the quiet strength and grace with which he lived his life.
We will all miss him deeply, but we can take comfort in knowing that his legacy of love, dedication, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. Rest in peace, dear Dennis. You fought a hard fight, now you are at peace, free from pain. Your memory will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
To honor Dennis, services will be held on Thursday, January 16 at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. Visitation from 12:30pm-2:30pm followed by his burial at St. Cecilia Catholic Church Cemetery where his military honors will be provided.

I went to high school with Dennis. Unfortunately haven´t seen him in years. He was always a good guy. My condolences to his family and friends. Gone way too soon!
