Dennis "Sharkey" Smith

Dennis "Sharkey" Smith, of Manchester, Kentucky, was born on January 15, 1956, in Clay County, Kentucky, to the late Henry Smith and Bessie Root Smith.

He is survived by two loving sons, Dennis Dewayne Smith (Amy) of Manchester, Kentucky, and Brandon Lee Smith (Mya Bingham) of Baldrock, Kentucky; a sister, Ruby Mayne of Williamsburg, Kentucky; three cherished grandchildren, Destanee Wombles, Zakkary Smith, and Leland Smith; and three precious great-grandchildren, Jaiden Wombles, Madelyn Wombles, and Jacelyn Wombles. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Flossie Smith of London, Kentucky, along with a host of other family members and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a host of siblings, a grandson, Sheldon Lockaby, and a great-grandson, Colton Wombles.

Dennis retired from the Corps of Engineers, where he worked in maintenance at Laurel Lake. He enjoyed pittling around outside and spending time outdoors. Known affectionately as "Sharkey," he was loved by all who knew him. In his free time, he loved playing poker.

Dennis "Sharkey" Smith departed this life on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the age of 69 years, 11 months, and 1 day.

At this time there will be no services scheduled for Dennis Smith.
