Dennis Sylver
December 8, 1933 – November 30, 2024
With a heart full of laughter and hands skilled in hard work, Dennis Sylver passed away peacefully on November 30, 2024, just days shy of his 91st birthday. Born on December 8, 1933, in Detroit, MI, to Lloyd and Irene Sylver, he was the youngest of seven children. Dennis was quick to joke that his parents couldn't afford a middle name-a reflection of his infectious humor and easygoing spirit that brightened the lives of everyone around him.
Dennis was a man who valued family above all. He now rests in peace alongside his beloved wife, Margaret Sylver, and two of his children, Tim Sylver and Kathy Gibson. He has also been reunited with his parents, Lloyd and Irene Sylver, and his siblings, Jack, Fred, Art, Tom, and Ronnie Sylver, as well as his sister, Betty Welsh.
He leaves behind his daughter, Margaret Robotnik (Al); grandchildren, Tim, Mark, John, Jenny, Brian (Heather), Sarah, Crystal (Justin), and Ashley (Brad); and great-grandchildren, Adam, Sydney, Skyler, Ayden, Andrew M., Addison, JJ, Teagan, Michelle, Ben, Nate, Kayla, Andrew S., Hailey, Chelsea, Isabella, and Amelia-all of whom he adored with all his heart.
A proud Roseville, MI resident for over 60 years, Dennis was a dedicated worker at General Motors for more than three decades, where his passion for fixing things and solving problems was legendary. When he wasn't turning wrenches, Dennis could often be found immersed in a crossword puzzle, learning something new, or savoring his favorite black coffee-usually alone in peace and quiet, as he treasured those moments of solitude.
Known for his selflessness and unwavering kindness, Dennis was a source of strength and support for his loved ones. He taught those who knew him what it meant to live with integrity and compassion.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff at Westwood Inn in Macomb, MI, for their loving care during Dennis's final days, with a special thanks to his son-in-law, Al.
In memory of Dennis, the family asks that, rather than sending flowers, you take a moment to do something kind for yourself, in the same way Dennis would have.
As per his wishes, no funeral services will be held. Dennis leaves behind a legacy of joy, love, and an unshakable devotion to family. He will be dearly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
