Dennis Edward "Denny" Tripcony was born on August 27, 1947, in Whitley County, Indiana, where he lived until enlisting in the U.S. Navy at age 17. He served for four years and received a Purple Heart for his service in Vietnam.
A consummate storyteller, Denny loved sharing his adventures from visiting six of the seven continents while in the military-always with a spark of humor and a twinkle in his eye.
In 1972, he married the love of his life, Kathy (Rodenbeck), and together they raised two children, Joy (Short) and Tim. Denny worked for the phone company for 40 years, faithfully served in several churches in a variety of roles, and enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and photography in his spare time. In his later years, he spent much of his time out in the community with his loyal companion and service dog, Louie.
He was preceded in death by his son, Tim, in 2014, and by his beloved wife of 50 years in 2023. He joins them now, forever reunited with his Lord. Denny will be deeply missed by many friends and family, including his daughter, Joy; grandson, Evan; brother, Gordon (wife Judy), and brother-in-law, Ted Rodenbeck (wife Ann).
He will be remembered for his tender heart, his quick wit and storytelling, and his unwavering devotion to his faith, family, and friends. A memorial service will be held on November 3rd at 1:30 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 7755 Greenstone Trail in Fort Collins, CO 80525. A light reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall. If you are unable to attend the service in person, you can watch the live stream at live.redeemerconnect.com. Memorial contributions can be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, to support their general ministry, or to Guide Dogs for the Blind.
