Dennis Tueller Obituary
Dennis Burton Tueller passed away Thursday morning, January 23, 2025, with his loving wife by his side. He had a recent fall and suffered a fractured neck.
Denny was 80 years young. He was born July 4, 1944, in Montpelier, Idaho, to Palmer Leland (Tom) Tueller and Dorothy Virginia Burton Tueller, the youngest of five children.
Denny had been on Symbii Home Health and Hospice for a while, where he received such great care, love, and support from everyone. They have been so awesome to us. I would also like to thank all the EMTs and everyone who assisted him. He really loved growing up in Paris, Idaho, with his two brothers, sister, and many friends. He was able to get into some mischief, which boys will do.
At an early age, Denny bought himself a lawn mower so he could mow lawns to make some money to assist his mom out after his father died. He was very glad he could do that.
After he graduated from Fielding High School in 1963, he went to work on a ranch in Cokeville, Wyoming, which he really loved. Then Central Farmers called him to work at the phosphate plant in Georgetown Canyon. When they closed the plant, Denny worked many different jobs, including building trailer houses in Logan, Utah. He also worked in an underground mine with Stauffer Chemical Co., which was one of Denny's least favorite jobs. He had to retire from Agrium (Soda Springs) because of back problems, where he had worked for over 30 years.
Denny joined the Army Reserves in November 1965, and his tour ended in 1971. This is where he got to do a lot of traveling. He went from ocean to ocean, and this is where he saw a lot of beautiful country, although nothing could ever beat good old Bear Lake Valley.
He met the love of his life, Suzanne Derricott, while riding around in his red convertible in Montpelier, Idaho. They dated for about 2 years and married in July 1968. They have one daughter, Wendy Jean.
Denny loved traveling and all kinds of hunting, fishing, and trap shooting. He especially loved training his bird dogs, so we could go hunting birds in many places. It is so fun to watch them work at finding birds. They are so smart and really want to please you. They were a big part of our family. I have to say how kind and thoughtful Denny was. Every day and throughout the day, he would always say, "Have I told you that I love you and thank you for all you do for me?"
Denny was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Owen Watterson, brother and sister-in-law Lowell and Gayle Tueller, brother-in-law Ed Wilcox, and a baby sister Janice. He is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne, of 56 1/2 years; daughter, Wendy Jean (John) Wirthlin; grandchildren, Jayla (Elias) Rowen, Ian Wirthlin, Jenessa (Ty) Hanson, and Jarrek Wirthlin; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Sheila); sister, Carol Wilcox; and nieces and nephews.
