Dennis Keith Williams, 71, died peacefully in his sleep on Sept. 17, 2025, while enjoying an adventure on the coast of Maine.
Born Oct. 3, 1953, in Roseboro, Dennis was the oldest son of Amalie and D.M. Williams. He graduated from Clement High School in 1971. After Campbell University, he moved to Fayetteville and built a life filled with curiosity, kindness, and joy.
Dennis is survived by his loving partner of 42 years, Alvis Smith; his sister, Mary Beth Laurie and husband Dan of Autryville; his brother, Marty Williams and wife Celeste of Autryville; nephews, Ryan Williams and wife Angie, with their sons Landon and Levi, and Eric Williams; nieces, Kirsten Laurie and Haley Epley and husband Dalton, with their sons Brandon and Barrett. He also leaves behind his aunts, Faye Faulkner of Burlington and Donna Williford of High Point; cousins, Amy Williford, Lisa Garrett, Bill Faulkner, and Renee Strickland; a heartbroken hiking club and countless friends.
A man of many interests, Dennis found joy in music, gardening, travel, and entertaining. He and Alvis shared adventures around the world, but Dennis was never happier than at their mountain cabin near Little Switzerland, North Carolina, where he welcomed friends with warmth and ease. Dennis and his dressy deviled eggs will be missed at community gatherings for many years to come.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Oct. 10, at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Resurrection in Little Switzerland.

I had the pleasure of working with Dennis for quite a few years at Sears. You just could not ever have a bad if Dennis was working. He treated everyone with dignity and respect, and had a wonderful sense of humor
and was thoughtful and kind.
He will be missed, but always remembered. Prayers to all

I remember Dennis from Clement school although he was older than me. My family would stop to talk to him when we shopped at Sears in Fayetteville. He was always handsome, well dressed, and well spoken. Prayers lifted for Marty and the rest of the family.

Dennis was a true gentleman. He was my go to guy when I needed to purchase a shirt and tie for my husband. He was an asset to Sears for many years. He will be remembered fondly by everyone. Sending prayers to his loved ones. Hold your memories close to your heart.

Bill and I had many Thanksgivings with Dennis at Amalie´s. Always welcomed us with a big smile and an offer of a glass of wine. We enjoyed out time with him and Alvis. He will be missed.
