Denny Keller Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home - Lynchburg on May 8, 2024.
Denny Ray "Fluffy" Keller, age 74 of Lynchburg, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024, at Bailey Manor in Fayetteville. He was born in Lincoln County on October 22, 1949, to the late Charles Ed and Edith Pearl (Tipps) Keller. Fluffy was a life-long farmer and carpenter by trade. Many of the barns in Moore County and surrounding counties had been built or roofed by him. Very active in many community events and projects, he drove the school bus for Moore County High School sporting events and helped start the Moore- County Fast Pitch softball at the high school. Fluffy was a devoted member of Smith Chapel Church, where he was on the building committee. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing (known as the "catfish king"), golfing, cheering for the University of Tennessee Volunteers, and was a master of the grill. But he most loved spending time with his family, especially watching his children and grandchildren play sports. Those who knew him will remember his love of family and community. Fluffy is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Faye Keller; children, Amy (Blake) Burleyson, Janice (Randy) Morey, Payton (LeAnne) Keller; grandchildren, Mercedes (Dexter) Golden, Clovia Burleyson, Ryder Morey, Keller Morey, Colton Morey, Ellie Graham, and Cullman Graham; great-grandchildren, River, Cason, and McKenna Golden; siblings, Jane Keller Damron, and Wayne (Brenda) Keller; nieces and nephews, Casey (Kayla) Damron, Corey (Martha) Damron, Erin (John) Dustin, and Kylie (Nick) Helle; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Lynchburg and from 10am-12pm on Saturday, May 11, 2204, at Smith Chapel. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 pm with Bro. Chris Harris officiating. Interment will be in Smith Chapel Cemetery with Glen Ervin, Larry Moorehead, Doug Sanders, David Hornaday, Melvin Preston, Eddie Burton, Jackie Burton, and Dexter Golden serving as pallbearers and Fluffy's Children and Grandchildren, Doug Faulkner, Sloan Stewart, Biff Farrar, Casey Damron, and Corey Damron serving as honorary pallbearers.
