Deon Lilly, 20 of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on Sunday, September 28th, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and joyful spirit that touched everyone who knew him. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary.
Born and raised in Lubbock, Deon is preceded in death by his beloved birth mother, Brittany Lilly, his brother Devin Lilly, and his grandfather James Lilly, Jr. He was raised with great love and guidance by his grandmother, Donna Pratt of Lubbock, Texas, who remained a constant source of strength in his life.
Deon attended Dunbar Jr. High and graduated with Class of 2024 from Estacado High School, where he excelled as an honor roll student. After graduation, he began working at Bigham Smokehouse as a cook, where he brought the same dedication, hard work, and good spirit that he carried in all areas of his life.
From an early age, Deon was full of creativity and imagination. He loved playing video games, collecting, and trading Pokémon cards, and building with Legos. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hanging out with family and friends, and making everyone laugh with his sense of humor. Deon loved music, family gatherings, and was always willing to lend a hand or offer a kind word. Hia great spirit and ability to brighten a room will be deeply missed.
Above all, Deon was a proud and loving father. His daughter, Denver, was the light of his life, and he poured his heart into being the best dad he could be.
He is survived by his brother from his mother Brittany: Damien Lilly and his daughters Kinsley and Kayle Lilly. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles through his grandmother Donna: Demetra Lilly, Tiffany Lilly (Rodrick Essix), Dwayne Hill, and Derrick McDowell (Sonia McDowell); and by his grandfather's children: Lakendrick Lilly and Micheal Smith.
Deon’s memory will also be carried on by his cousins: Daycha Lilly, Diamond Lilly, DanielleLilly, Dariah Lilly, Darrion Taylor, Ryniah Essix, and Zyniah Essix; a host of aunts, uncles, half-siblings, extended family, and countless friends who loved him dearly.
Deon will forever be remembered for his caring heart, his willingness to put others first, and the love he shared with everyone around him. His laughter, his kindness, and his dedication to family will live on through the lives he touched.
