Derek Logan Bunting, age 39 of Dardanelle, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at his home. He was born January 3, 1985, in Russellville, Arkansas to Danny Lynn Bunting Sr. And Crystal Ann Courtney Brown. He attended the River Park Church of Christ.
Derek was part owner of Bunting Electric and a 2003 graduate of Dardanelle High School. After high school he attended the University of Central Arkansas. He was always working any community event and loved cooking, playing golf, but most of all he loved his family and they were everything to him. Derek was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gordon Brown, Joe Courtney, O.E. Bunting, Anna Mae Fowler Bunting, Mary (Pete) Mueller; three uncles, Ed Brown, Benny Bunting Sr., Buzzy Daugherty; his stepsister, Lacy Awalt and his dog, Boss.
Survivors include his parents, Danny Bunting Sr. (Suzie), Crystal "Cris" Courtney Brown (Wes Stroe); his dog, Dugan; two brothers, Danny Bunting Jr., Dustin Bunting (Brittany); four aunts, Kay Daugherty, Barbara Boyne (Tim), Phyllis Bull (Roy), Jeanie Bunting; four nephews, Drew Bunting, Daxton Bunting, Dexter Bunting, Dalton Bunting; two nieces, Mercy Bunting, Cecilia Bunting; one stepbrother, Eli Stroe; one stepsister, Jennifer Stroe and countless other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2024 at the Dardanelle Community Center. Visitation will be held Sunday, 6-8 p.m. at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle. Burial will be private
Pallbearers will be Rush Cornwell, John Ford, Rick Moore, Brandon Tallent, Brad Lane, Clay Mitchell and Josh Saylors.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gabe Couch and present and former employees of Bunting Electric.
