Derek Good Obituary

He was the beloved son of Kevin (Candice Litzner) Good, Judy (Jay) Hallan, and Dinal Dinkfelt. A devoted brother to Tylor, Alex (Carolyn), Dayton (Tori), and Griffin (Maggie); a proud and playful uncle to Emberlynn and Jory; a cherished grandson of Lee Hallan; and the dearest friend to Margaret Cross.
Derek was preceded in death by his grandparents Ted and Janice Mick, Kathy Artman, Deb Reed, and Laura Hallan, who now welcome him with open arms.
A 2006 graduate of Frankfort High School, Derek went on to earn his bachelor's degree in hospitality and business from Michigan State University-an accomplishment that reflected his natural warmth, attention to detail, and love for connecting with people.
Derek lived with a big heart and a curious mind. He found joy in books, loved to ride, and never passed up a chance to learn something new. Generous and kind, he was always ready to lend a hand to those he loved. Derek's warmth, humor, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
To honor Derek's love for his cats, Tiny and Clifford, memorial contributions may be made to: Benzie County Animal Control Shelter, 543 S. Michigan Avenue, Beulah, MI 49617.
A celebration of Derek's life will be held on Saturday, August 9, at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church with a gathering beginning at 10:00 am. All who knew and loved Derek are welcome to join in remembrance. Arrangements with Jowett Family Funeral Home.
