Derek Andrew MOSS

Bremerton, WA - Derek A. Moss, 34, formerly of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at his home in Bremerton, WA. He was born June 17, 1989, at Wright Patterson Air Force Hospital, Dayton, Ohio.

Survivors include parents Denise Stiver of Bremerton, WA and Tim (Charlotte) Moss, Greenville, Ohio. Derek is survived by siblings Thad (Jessica) Moss of Dayton, Ohio, Cody (Paige Bachman) Moss of New Madison, Ohio, Gabrielle (Jeff) Rachael of Bremerton, WA, Hailey Corwin of Chicago, Illinois and Elizabeth Moss of Greenville, Ohio; his nieces and nephews, Lily Moss of Greenville, Ohio, Josie and Piper Moss of Dayton, Ohio, Jensen Moss of New Madison, Ohio, Jay Rachall of Bremerton, WA and Natasha and Anna Corwin of Chicago, Illinois; his aunts and uncles Chrissy (John) Coppock of Greenville, Ohio, Tammy (Don) McFadden of New Carlisle, Ohio, Michael Bitner of Greenville, Ohio and Bob (Terri) Moss of St. Mary's, Ohio; and his grandparents C. Tim and Jennie Moss, Bob and Diana Bitner and Keith and Arlene Marshall all of Greenville, Ohio.

Derek was a graduate of Tri-Village High School and Montgomery County CTC Class of 2008. Derek was a member of the Tri Village High School soccer team. He enjoyed playing trombone in the Tri-Village High School concert, marching and pep bands. Derek was in Cub Scout Pack 708 and Boy Scout Troop 708. Derek enjoyed going to the New Madison Public Library beginning at a young age for activities and books. Upon graduation, Derek went to Peru on a missions trip. He enjoyed reading, hiking and having a good time with friends. He could tell you a story and/or a summary of a book without leaving out a single detail. Derek enjoyed his candy and always had a stash in his school locker and could wipe out a candy dish in minutes. Derek will be greatly missed by many people that have been a part of his short life on earth. He accepted Christ and was then baptized at church camp in Houston, Ohio. So we are assured in knowing that one day we will rejoice in being together again. Derek started working in high school at Arby's restaurant in Greenville then at GTI for several years before moving to Louisiana, Texas and Washington.
