Derek Winebrenner Obituary
Funeral services to be held at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home at their Bardstown Road location in Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 4th, from 2PM-8PM, as well as Thursday, March 5th, from 11AM-1PM, with the Celebration of Life service at 1PM. Additionally, a Wake will follow at Wildwood Country Club, Bardstown Rd, beginning at 2:30PM.
To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Our hearts are forever broken. Our love for Derek will forever be. Derek was one of the best humans on this planet. He was the best doc and Lacrosse coach for our son Hunter! Derek (or "KY" as he was known by his fraternity brothers) was such a bright light that his `light´ will live on within all of us who had the luck to know him. May his memory be a blessing for his family and friends.

I met Derek many years ago through my nephew, Greg Krugel. They had been friends from childhood. He was such an amazing person and I am deeply saddened by his untimely passing. My sincere condolences to his family and may God wrap them in His healing and loving arms and grant them peace.

Dear Sherri and Madison,
My heart is breaking for you and your family. I still have photos at an SPPS Mardi Gras fundraiser where Derek photo bombed all of our faculty photos. My family still remembers your generosity in letting us borrow your Hilton Head condo about 8 or 9 years ago. We had great memories of that trip. Sherri, you and Derek were wonderful supportive parents when I was blessed to teach Madison.
May Derek rest in peace and may you hold on to your memories. Blessings,
