The world will not be as bright without Derrick. I met him in junior high and continued to build memories throughout high school. Everyone knew he was special - just had an aura of happiness. Just 3 yrs ago he somehow located my number (I'm unlisted) and called to wish me a happy birthday - it meant the world to me and I thought how great it would be to connect again. We will all miss him. My thoughts go out to his family.
