Derrick Roger Siemer, 60, of Denison, Iowa, passed away on February 5, 2026.
Born on November 16, 1965, in Carroll, Iowa, Derrick was the son of Roger and Barbara Siemer. He graduated from Denison High School in 1984 and later attended Texas Refrigeration School in Waco, Texas, equipping him with skills that would define his professional life.
Derrick proudly took over the family business, Siemer Plumbing and Heating, in Denison, where he served the community with dedication and expertise until his retirement in 2022.
An avid outdoorsman, Derrick cherished hunting and fishing, and he delighted in hosting friends and family for his famous fish fries—gatherings filled with good food, laughter, and shared stories that created cherished memories for all who attended.
He is survived by his daughter, Tess Howard, and her husband, Connor; his grandson, Jack Howard; his parents, Roger and Barbara Siemer; his sister, Nicole Chesmore, and her husband, Michael; and his niece and nephew, Brooke and Austin Chesmore.
Derrick was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Shauna Leigh Siemer.
Derrick will be deeply missed for his generous heart, love of the outdoors, and the warmth he extended to everyone around him. His family finds comfort in the many joyful moments shared and the lasting impact he made on those he loved.
His memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., prior to the service, at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. Inurnment will follow in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Sheepgate (Adult & Teen Challenge) Men’s Campus in Colfax, Iowa, a faith-based recovery program. Checks may be made out to Sheepgate and sent to the family, who will deliver them on behalf of Derrick.
