We are sad to announce the passing of Derrick Vasquez, born February 16, 1963 and passed away on December 25, 2025.
Derrick attended Mitchell Elementary, Golden Junior High, and Golden Senior High School, where he excelled in baseball, basketball, wrestling, and football. He was a devoted father and grandfather, and a wonderful friend to many. Derrick will be remembered for his loyalty, strength, and the love he had for his family and friends.
Derrick was born in Denver, Colorado, to Abie S. Vasquez and Mercy R. (Pacheco) Vasquez. He was preceded in death by his parents, Abie and Mercy Vasquez, and sister Marcie Vasquez.
Derrick is survived by his son, James Vasquez (Nikki), and three grandsons; his sisters, Vicki Vasquez and Lucy Cruze (Kevin); two nieces; seven nephews; three great-nieces; four great-nephews; and many cherished friends.
Derrick’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the memories he created, and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
