Detra Morris, 66, passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 11, 2024, at her residence. She was born on November 25, 1957, in Savannah, Georgia to the late William and Ava Mitchell.
Detra will always be remembered for her unwavering love for her family and her innate ability to care for those around her. Her memories will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In addition to her caring nature, Detra had a love for the simple joys of life. She found great pleasure in camping adventures, as well as cooking delicious meals for her family and friends.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Calvin Morris; children, Chris Morris (Julie), Ryan Morris (Melissa) and Shelly Morris (Justin); grandchildren, Allison, Shane (Brandi), Trent (Mara), Tanner (Bailey), Justin, Brenden, Paisley, Ava, and Wilder; best friend and sister, Randi “Nan” (Frankie); sister, Julie (Carey); brothers, Greg and Mike (Cindy); and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024, from 3-5pm at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Cedar Grove Cemetery on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 10am.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to SunCare Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to Mrs. Detra.
