Devarean Jermaine Gomez, a young soul full of dreams and aspirations, passed away on February 8, 2024, at the tender age of 17. Born on October 11, 2006, in his beloved hometown of Hobbs, NM,
With a warm and affectionate personality, Devarean touched the hearts of many with his genuine care and protective nature. He was not only a loving son and brother but also a friend who stood by those he loved. His loyalty knew no bounds, and his presence brought comfort to those in need. Devarean's kind heart will forever be remembered and cherished by his surviving family and friends.
Devarean was a loving and protective son and brother to his family. He was a hard worker and a go getter that aspired to be a barber, a musician and a firefighter who enjoyed playing football, basketball, and baseball. Motivated to break the chains of generational strife that has haunted his family for years, he aimed to rise above it all. His motivation was fueled by an unwavering determination to pave a better future for himself and his loved ones.
The life of Devarean Jermaine Gomez will be celebrated with a visitation on February 15, 2024, held at Griffin Funeral Home located at 401 N Dalmont St. from 5:00pm to 8:00 pm. His funeral service will be held at Bethel Assembly of God Church located at 2714 N Dal Paso St. on Friday, February 16 at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park 1900 E Stanolind Rd.
Devarean leaves behind a grieving family who will forever hold him in their hearts. His mother Karen Gomez and father Michael Gibson deeply mourn the loss of their beloved son. Devarean's brothers Angel Rodriquez and Josiah Sinnett, as well as his sister Unique Rodriquez and Denise Rodriquez, find solace in the memories they shared together throughout their lives.
In addition to his immediate family, Devarean was preceded in death by his loving grandfather Bobby Garcia, cherished cousin Anaya Gomez, and adored grandmother Enriqueta Villa.
Rest in eternal peace, dear Devarean. Your vibrant energy will be deeply missed, but your memory will live on forever within our hearts.
