Jacquelyn Marie Dodson May 11th 1952 - March 14th 2026
Loving wife to Jimmy Lynn Dodson of 54 years. Mother to Jack Dearl and Joseph Lynn, Ma to four grandchildren, Cade, Kaylee, Abby and Morgan Dodson. Great Grandmother to one, Wrenly Rose.
On Mothers day, May 11th 1952, Jacquelyn Marie Fletcher was born to Beulah Marie and Jack Fletcher at the Goodfellow Airforce base in San Angelo Texas, at the age of 15 her family moved to Hobbs New Mexico. Graduated from Hobbs High School 1970 She often helped at a floral shop in Hobbs, Heaven Scent, then worked as a telephone operator for a short while before getting married to Jimmy in 1971 and taking on the role as a loving Wife and Mother.You could often find Jacquelyn on a tennis court winning tournaments and bringing home many trophies over the years.
She attended Temple Baptist Church in Hobbs, where she was known as “Miss Jacquee’ ” as a teacher for Sunday mornings and Wednesday night Kings Kids. Miss Jacquee’ loved inviting any and everyone to attend church with her. She was also known for her bold tastes, if you’ve seen her fiesta plates or her extravagant earrings, you know she was a woman who loved color.
She is survived by her husband Jimmy Dodson, her son Joey Dodson (wife Misty Dodson). Her younger sisters Klomah Fletcher, and Michelle Holder (husband Mike Holder). Her Grandson Cade Dodson, (wife Raynee Dodson) and their daughter Wrenly Dodson. Her Granddaughters Kaylee Dodson, Abby Dodson and Morgan Dodson.
She is Predeceased in death by her parents Beulah Marie Shipman Fletcher, Jack Frank Fletcher, and her son Jack Dearl Dodson.
The funeral service will be Thursday March 19th 2026 held at Temple Baptist Church Hobbs NM, at 2pm with graveside service at Prarie Haven to follow. The family encourages everyone to wear colorful floral/spring attire if you wish to attend.
