DEVON JOSEPH “D.J.” DUKE
HEADLAND… Devon Joseph “D.J.” Duke, a resident of Headland, Alabama passed away Monday, August 19, 2024, at The University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital. He was 27.
Funeral services will be held 6:00 P.M. Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Pastor William Mansfield officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 P.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
D.J. was born in Augusta, Georgia. He moved to the Headland, Alabama area around fifteen years ago. He was a 2015 graduate of Headland High School. He worked as a locksmith before his passing. He loved cooking and was known as a master chef by his family. He had several hobbies, but a couple of his favorites were woodworking and pottery. His main ambition and goal in life was to make people laugh, which in return made them happy.
Leaving to cherish his memories are his parents, Tammie Lynn Wheeler Johannes and Richard Johannes; his sister, Chloe Duke (Dalton Mansfield); his step-brother, T.J. Johannes; his step-sisters, Emily Johannes and Amelia Whittle (Frank); his nephew; and his cousins.
