Devri Anne Graves, 45, of Austin, Texas, passed away on March 16, 2023.
Fiercely independent, kind of heart, compassionate in spirit, and generous to a fault, Devri exhibited an energy that captivated people and animals alike. She was a loyal and nurturing friend, a mother-like figure to many, a courageous woman who didn't shy away from helping others even when times got tough. Her kindness and compassion endeared her to all who met her. Devri answered the call of her heart, and she gave all of herself to helping people and animals in need. She was a shining light that inspired others.
She volunteered with Meals on Wheels, sheltered and fed abandoned pets in need, raised money for AIDS research and assistance, and was always there for her friends when needed.
She loved her family, her friends and her pets. And she was loved by all of them in return.
Devri was passionate about travel in her quest to better understand the world from different perspectives by seeing new places and experiencing different cultures.
She was taken from us due to complications following her diagnosis of pancreatitis. She took care of so many people for so long, maybe it was finally time for her to rest. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Devri was born June 18, 1977, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She graduated from Martin High School in Arlington, Texas in 1995 and moved to Austin the next day. She was a devoted employee of McCreary, Veselka, Bragg & Allen, PC in Round Rock, Texas, for more than two decades. She was preceded in death by her mother, Leralyane Lenard of Midlothian, Texas, and her beloved brother, Jason Graves of Austin. She is survived by her heartbroken father, David Graves, and his wife, Martha Hurley, of Vienna, Austria.
