Dewayne Brown, beloved Father, Son, Husband, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and Friend, was called to his eternal resting place on December 11, 2024. He entered this world on June 6, 1946, in Big Spring, TX, born to Jeffery and Doris Brown.

Dewayne was passionate about life. He loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He loved fishing, dancing, and having fun. There was never a dull moment around him. He was always the life of the party and could make the dimmest day brighter with his joking and playing around! You could see his smile a mile away. Dewayne was known by most as "Doob/Doobie," "Uncle Wayne," and "Walkie." Throughout his younger years in Seguin, he had cousins who called him "Wayne-Foot."

Dewayne had a giving heart - he would give a stranger his last dime. He was a great provider for his family and had a strong work ethic. He worked many years at the lumber yard and several years as a driver for the cotton gin in Brownfield. He was an all-around skilled craftsman. One of Dewayne's greatest achievements was completing his education and receiving his GED at a later time in his life. His desire to apply for his minister's license, which he did receive, led him to focus on accomplishing this.

Even during his retired years, Dewayne continued taking on odd jobs to keep himself busy. On any day of the week, you might see him riding the streets of Brownfield on his lawn mower, ready to cut somebody's, anybody's grass. He was a jack of all trades and didn't mind getting his hands dirty to make a dollar. If you had the pleasure of knowing Dewayne, you knew the genuineness of his soul.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Brown; his parents, Jeffery W. and Doris M. Brown;7 siblings, Joanna Hopkins, Clarice Mason-Dixon, Brenda Pugh, Clarence Willie Pitts, Howard Brown, Maurice Brown and Eugene Brown.

He is survived by his daughters, Gwendolyn Brown, and Patricia Brown; sons, Leonard Brown (Teresa), Clarence Brown, and Dewayne Brown Jr.(DJ). He is survived by his grandchildren, who will miss him dearly, Katrina Harrell (Anthony), LaToya Jones (Wesley), Jeffery Brown, Kevin Sanders, Miesha Sanders, Sharterica Lawrence, Jontae Fox-Brown, Clarence Brown Jr. (CJ), Darius Brown, Anaiah Brown, Johnny Houston, and Shaquita Houston. His surviving siblings who love him and will greatly miss him are Leola Smith (W.L.), Diane Reed (his twin sibling), Gwendolyn Phillips, Charles Brown (Quincy), Melvin Brown (Shadinka), Janice Hinton (Anthony), and Stacey Brown (Rosie) and sister-in-law, Bertha Davis. He leaves to cherish his memories 17 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
