Dewell Howell Obituary
Dewell Edward Howell, 92, of Albemarle passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024 at Atrium Health Stanly.
Dewell was born December 2, 1932, in Stanly County to the late Purdy Dorman Howell and Pearl Faye Burleson Howell. Dewell was preceded in death by his daughter, Connie Rea, and three siblings; Bill Howell, Catherine Burleson, and Vickie Howell.
He retired from Waste Management after years of driving trucks, which he loved talking about. He was a member of Canton Baptist Church for over 50 years and adored his church family. He loved everything having to do with the outdoors, with a special love for fishing.
His funeral service will be at 2 PM on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Canton Baptist Church with Pastor Curtis Williams officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery following the service.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Howell; one daughter, Jo Ann Huffman(Cluie); granddaughter, Jessica Girton(Jeromy); great-granddaughter, Emilie Annsister; sister, Betty Howell Furr and many nieces and nephews.
