It is with both sadness and fond remembrance that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother, Dian Thompson, who left us peacefully on July 31st, 2025 at the age of 81.

Dian is survived by her devoted son Lonnie Thompson, daughter-in-law Xiaojing Li, and cherished grandson Michael Thompson. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael Thompson, with whom she shared many joyful years.

Born with a curious spirit and a sense of humor that could lighten any room, Dian will be remembered most for her goofy, endearing sense of humor- she was always ready with a quirky comment or an unexpected laugh at just the right time. Her greatest professional achievement was her decades-long commitment to civil service, from which she retired with pride and honor. She dedicated her life to the betterment of others through her work and was respected and admired by her colleagues.

A lover of travel and adventure, Dian spent years living overseas, embracing life in countries such as Scotland and Germany. The family's most cherished traditions include celebrating holidays together and enjoying Sunday steak dinners in earlier years, always lovingly prepared and shared around the table- an expression of her deep love for family togetherness.

One of the funniest and most treasured memories comes from a trip to London, when her 11-year-old son insisted they rent a little paddle boat. Just moments after climbing aboard, both oars fell into the lake. While her son found it hilarious, she most definitely did not- yet the memory continues to bring laughter decades later.

Dian brought warmth, humor, and a deep sense of family to everyone who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the stories, laughter, and love she leaves behind.
