Diana Toyoko Hayashi, 78, of Hilo died Aug. 15 at the Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born in Olaa, she was a retired customer service representative for Verizon, Hilo High School Class of 1965 and an avid cook. Private services will be held at a later date. Survived by son, Mel Hayashi of Tokyo, Japan; daughter, Krystel Hayashi of Hilo; grandsons, Truyn Hayashi of Hilo, Audio Hayashi-Meurs of Hilo; siblings, Clara Kuranaka of Pearl City, Lorraine Kobayashi of Hilo, Alan Maesaka of Hilo, Colleen Marushige of Hilo; Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
