Diana Marion KOO

Diana Marion Koo (nee Davies) passed away peacefully on January 20, 2024, at the age of 85. Born in Australia in 1938, to Sybil and Ambrose, Diana grew up with her cherished sisters Joan (Robert) and Luella (Ian). In her 20s she placed Runner-Up in the Miss South Australia pageant, before becoming a flight attendant and leaving Australia a few years later to fulfill her ambition of traveling overseas - she lived in the UK for 5 years and traveled extensively throughout Europe.

Eventually Diana settled in Vancouver, BC, Canada where she met her late husband, Kenneth (son of Millicent and Wan Zee), with whom she shared a lifetime of love and memories for over 40 years until his passing. Diana was a loving and caring mother to her son David and always looked forward to the many dinners, get-togethers and trips with her Canadian family including sisters-in-law Jean (James), Sandra (Donald) and Shirley (Michael). "Aunt Diana" also held a special place in the hearts of her many nieces and nephews, both in Canada and back in Australia.

Diana's career spanned more than 50 years at many different companies and organizations, finally completing her working life at Simon Fraser University where she was the Undergraduate Secretary in the SFU Department of Chemistry for over a decade until her retirement.

Diana's vibrant and radiant spirit were a light to all who knew her and touched the lives of many people. In particular, she will be missed by members of the many community groups she belonged to over the years including: Trinity United Church, her Red Hat ladies, lawn and carpet bowling, PoCo Garden Club, Art Focus and the Burke Mountain Naturalists, to name a few.

As we say goodbye, we also celebrate a life well-lived and the precious memories we carry forward. A memorial service for Diana will be held at Trinity United Church, on Friday March 15th at 2pm, followed by afternoon tea in the hall including sandwiches and sweets prepared by the United Church Women (UCW). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation - Diana volunteered at the Eagle Ridge Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Store (ERHATS) for many years.

Diana will be dearly missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
