Diana Lee Poplin, born June 4, 1956, in Kansas City, Missouri, passed peacefully in her sleep on October 2, 2025, going home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was the beloved daughter of Rev. Charles R. McGaughey and Flora L. (Alleman) McGaughey.

Diana grew up in Missouri and graduated from J.C. Harmon High School in 1974. In early 1975, she married David L. Swearingin Sr., and together they made their home in Raymore, Missouri, where they raised two sons, David Jr. and Jeremy.

In 1981, Diana found her lifelong partner and the love of her life, Albert W. "Bill" Poplin. The two were married on May 22. 1981, in Oklahoma. Through their union, Diana's heart and family grew to include Bill's children, Rodney, Christy, and Jamie, whom she loved as her own.

Diana was a gifted pianist and singer, using her talents to worship the Lord and bring joy to others. Her deep love for Christ was evident in every part of her life, in her music, her compassion, her service to others, and her unwavering faith through every season. She had a gentle spirit, a kind heart, and a steadfast belief in the power of prayer. She devoted much of her life to caring for the elderly and creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and the delicious meals she loved to prepare. Known for her hospitality and generosity, Diana made everyone feel welcomed and loved at her table and in her presence. Above all, she cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, finding her greatest joy in family.

Diana is survived by her sons, David Swearingin Jr. and his wife Nicole of Aloha, Oregon, and Jeremy Swearingin and his wife Frances of Buckner. Missouri; her stepchildren Rodney Poplin and his wife, Nicole of Borne, Texas; Christy Mitchell and her husband, Roy of Aberdeen, Mississippi, and Jaime Piña and her husband Joey of San Jose, California; her father, Rev. Charles McGaughey; her brothers and sister; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will forever treasure her memory.

She was joyfully welcomed into Heaven by her beloved husband, Albert "Bill" Poplin, her mother, Flora McGaughey, a sister-in-law, three sons, a nephew, and a great-nephew

Diana's life was a reflection of her faith. her music and her unconditional love for others.

Her legacy of worship, compassion, and devotion to Christ will continue to inspire and comfort all who knew her.
